Miyajima
The holy island of Miyajima, just a 20 minutes boat-ride from Hiroshima, has Japans second most popular photo-object - the great gate. For many centuries ordinary people where not allowed to set foot on the island. They could only visit the shrine which is build on poles in the water, and then they had to enter through this gate

The 47 samurais
This is the grave of the 47 samurais who in the early 18th century was left leaderless after their master had to commit suicide as a result of an assault on a court official. In accordance with their code of honor they killed the official, knowing they would then themselves have to commit suicide on account of murder. Every year on the day of their suicide, people come to these graves in the middle of Shinagawa Tokyo, to pay their respect

Welcome
I hope You will enjoy the photos You find here. I've been a dedicated hobby-photographer for the last 5 years and with this newly redesigned webpage I'm hoping to take my photography to a more serious level.
I will publish a set of 5 to 15 photos on a certain subject, place or event, in what I call a gallery. The goal is to publish less photos, but hopefully photos of higher quality.
Once again, welcome
